    Paid Family Leave Updates Effective July 1, 2014

    As of July 1st, California Paid Family Leave revisions will go into effect. Paid Family Leave family member definitions will now include grandparents, grand-children, siblings, and parent-in-laws.

    CA Minimum Wage Increases July 1st

    The first phase of California's 2-phase, minimum wage increase is now less than one month away. Effective July 1st, California's minimum wage will increase from $8.00 an hour to $9.00 an hour.

    CA Minimum Wage Bill and Mandatory Sick Leave Bill Moving Forward

    Last week, SB935 passed through the California Senate. SB935 provides for additional increases in the California minimum wage. AB 1522 also passed its initial review last week. AB1522 provides that any employee who works in California for more than 7 days in a calendar year shall accrue paid sick leave at the rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked.
